Always on edge
I feel on edge most of the time. My body braces for something, even when nothing is happening. Calm feels just out of reach.
Sometimes experiences from the past can continue to affect how we feel in the present. This might show up as anxiety, overwhelm, feeling on edge, or finding it hard to relax. For some, this may be linked to trauma or PTSD, where the mind and body are still responding as though something isn’t quite safe. Hypnotherapy offers a safe, trauma-informed approach to working through this gently, at your own pace.
“You do not have to force yourself to ‘move on’, healing trauma begins with feeling safe enough to slowly reconnect with yourself”
When the body has carried something for a long time, it shows up in quiet ways. These are some of the patterns clients describe when they first reach out. Everything we do is guided by you:
You are always safe and at ease
Nothing is rushed or forced
We only go where you feel safe
I feel on edge most of the time. My body braces for something, even when nothing is happening. Calm feels just out of reach.
Something small can set me off. A noise, a tone of voice, a memory. My body reacts before my mind catches up.
Sleep is restless. My mind keeps replaying things, and even when I’m tired, I can’t quite let myself rest.
Part of me is always scanning, always ready. I find it hard to feel fully safe, even in places that should feel safe.
Old experiences still feel close. I’ve moved on in many ways, but parts of me are still waiting for what happened to be over.
I don’t want to relive any of it. I just want to feel calmer, lighter, and more like myself again.
When we go through difficult or overwhelming experiences, the brain can store them in a way that keeps the body alert and protective. That isn’t something you’re doing wrong, it’s your nervous system trying to keep you safe. Hypnotherapy works gently with the subconscious to settle the system, calm the response, and let the body learn that it is safe to soften now. Sessions are calm, conversational, and always at your pace.
Using relaxation, focused attention, gentle imagery and trauma-informed techniques, we work with how the mind and body respond, rather than asking you to revisit what happened. You are always safe and at ease. Nothing is rushed or forced. We only go where you feel safe. Over time you begin to feel calmer, more settled, and more at home in yourself, with healing that is gentle, supported, and able to move at your own pace.
Each session is gentle, trauma-informed and led by you. Together we use hypnotherapy, nervous system regulation and supportive techniques to soften how your body holds the past, without needing to relive any of it. You leave each session more settled, with practical tools to support you between sessions and the quiet sense that healing is genuinely underway.
